World-Class Aerobatics Pilot Quique Somenzini Joins TEAM RCU.
LONE TREE, CO -- RCUniverse.com announced today that Quique Somenzini joined TEAM RCU as one of its premier corporate-sponsored pilots. Somenzini will fly the RCUniverse.com colors on his aircraft at shows and competitive events. “We are ecstatic to have Quique join TEAM RCU. TEAM RCU was established in October 2003 to connect hobbyists with RC pilots at competitions, local events, and industry trade shows. The Somenzini sponsorship represents the second in a series of planned sponsorships designed by RCUniverse.com to offer greater exposure to professional and amateur pilots in several flight disciplines, including scale, jet and helicopters. TEAM RCU also plans to add radio control car and truck drivers to its sponsor ros ter as well.
Quique was born in Rio Curato, Argentina and has been flying RC since he was 9 year old. Somenzini has won numerous US National and world titles throughout impressive career. He is a 4-time TOC Champion, 21-time Argentina F3A National Champion, 6-time South American F3A Champion, and a 2-time F3A US National Champion. At the age of 10, he placed first in the F3A Argentina National Championships, while his father was winning another National title. Quique is the youngest pilot (12 years of age) to compete at the F3A World Championships. Quique holds the prestigious reputation of introducing a new style of flying to the aerobatic world known as 3D flight, which today is one of the fastest growing aspects of this hobby.
