It's nice looking airplane and built well, NOT underpowered by any means. I didn't have my camera ready in time but he snapped it on take off. The one thing I did notice is whoever built it used CA hinges. CA hinges on a 50%?

is this something your pal built up or found on the used market, any stats on this beauty to add to this post? No slam on 40% aerobat planes but the grace and realism of a 1/2 scale is hard to beat.

I'm not sure what kit this is. BUT, after looking at it real close it looks to me like it might be from and Aerotech kit which is 52%.. From what I know he bought it from a guy in Canada, but not to sure. He just showed up to the field with it and started flying it...

Check it out..

If the previous owner is from Canada it may have belonged to Mike Clemmens owner of MSC Props.

Mikes had this:
It has a 156†wing span, 144 inch fuse including a 7 inch Revolution spinner. Weight is approx 65 lbs. It has a custom built 282 cc twin cylinder engine, turning a 38-15 prop.

Have not seen the plane up close, i bought an engine from the builder which was one of 2 custom 282cc engines he fabricated. and one of which was on the big extra for several years before the 342cc engine came along. Have a wood 1/2 Laser for my 282cc engine as well as some 275 cc Limbach engines slated for a pair of 1/2 Sukhoi projects. Can you send me the inverted pass image in full file size, is a favorite for me.

If you want a 52% Edge, then take a look at this one from ACM

That's what I'm getting ready for later this year.

The only picture I have of mine is on this web page , just go down some. I asked my daughter to pose next to it for size comparison.

Edge

I have seen it fly back in 2000. It was great to see something that big. It seemed to fly very well and VERY scale like. One could easily imagine a full scale while this airplane is flying. As far as I remember, this plane is capable of torque rolls with a good pull out. What had impressed me the most were the rolling circles of this plane. They were perfect (at least to my eye).

How much did it cost ??? Sure I should not ask but...

The plane does great rolling circles. It's truly a great flying airplane and I beleive the buyer got a good deal with the exception of the CA hinges (just my opinion) because the rudder hinges look like they need to be replaced.

From what the buyer said he thought that the airplane was only about 1 to 2 years old...not sure..

When watching if fly you swear you can't tell it's as big as it is. Very nimble, and I'm sure before long he'll be TQ Rolling it on the deck...
