Yesterday was beautiful! I got in five good flights on my t-34. As I rotated on takeoff on flight six I saw something depart the aircraft in a ballistic arc [X(] That can't be good....plane is flying ok though, huh. I brought it back around and did a low, slow flyby to look it over. Ah ha, no nosewheel...yikes. After flying a fwe circuits trying to decide between gear down, or bellying it in, I lined up, left the gear down and tried to slooooow the plane down. My t-34 always lands hot. When the mains touched down, I held the nose wheel up as best I could. when it did touch the plane came to an screeching halt....well the plane didn't screech, but I did [&:]. No damage except the wheel. Our field is rough right now, and I guess my 2 blade 13x6 doesn't have enough clearance. Time to go to a 3 blade...does Robart have a mechanical nosegear with strut to fit this plane?!
