do not get the 10 inchers. they put alot of stress on the drivetrain. i like my tires. heres some of the size differences to stock.

I asume you are talking about the 'Jumbo Kongs'?? If so, don't do it, unless you have plenty of money to throw at your drivetrain. As Visaracer said, it will eat it up.
Personally I have a set of stocks (great tyres, crap stock foams) and a set of bowties (superb tyre for dusty tracks). The big joes that Vis has are nice and big, which help the stability of the truck and they are also '40 series' (scale 40 inch rims) which gives you a beefy look.

The "series" on a real tire indicates sidewall height...unless its just a name I doubt those are supposed to be scale 40 inch rims,I dunno.

The Kongs are mostly for show but I have run them on my stock drivetrain Savage and it's not all that bad. I took it real easy though...

Mostly I use the Big Joes when really bashing.

Hey Matster, Do you know if there are any foams that will enhance the stock tires?

i use the trinity firms, for the stock size tires, they work excellent.

I saw a video a while back of someone running Kongs on a Savage. Seems like his body hardly touched the ground when he wrecked. He bounced all over the place but his acceleration was stupid slow. I use 40 series tires on my Savage & love them. Go with what you want but remember bigger costs more in initial investment & wear & tear on your truck. If you keep the stock rims, invest in extra wheel nuts (particularly the silver ones) & keep your 4 way wrench handy! Clamping hex wheel hubs are a good idea too.

Any foams are better than the stock ones, but I use the foams that I got with my Proline Bow-Ties in my stockers (much better) and I use the Trinity foams (with a bit of trimming) in the Bow-Ties.

Thanks Matster and Doctorgoodwrench. I have tried the Tmaxx tires for about 1/2 hour on my Savage but not too impressed with the way they bit or handled.

I own Imex Jumbo Kongs and Imex Jumbo Swamp Dawgs. The Kongs look awsome on the truck... That is about it. I only ever ran 2 tanks with them. First tank was fine, Steering was pretty bad, and Braking was non exsistant. Second Tank It ate my Spur Gear and my Clutch. Now I've been running the Jumbo Swamp Dawgs and I love them. Alittle on the heavy side, great traction,(So good that is it currently running 2wd). Supprised of how well it handles for 2wd. Only thing i'm going to need to do with these tires is beef up the braking. I just installed a Hitec 645MG for my steering. I am going to move the stock steering servo to the gas/brake. Maybe even stronger linkages. I'd stay away from the Kongs. I may end up buying a set of Big Joes as well. Stocks are still great for bashing.

They ARE scaled down 40 inch rims. It has nothing to do with the profile of the tyre.

Guys, I have the UFO wheels with dozer tires from hot bodies... I can do tight donuts on these tire/wheel combo... that is with the 52t spur.
