You dont need a brake for chopper - this is only used to lock motor for foldback prop on aircraft.

In fact I left my brake on by accident and ground 2 teeth off the tail gear (zoom400) when it came to a complete stop from high rpm. Not Good !!

If you are planning to go seperates you will need a special esc that can also mix the tail otherwise you will need 2 esc's. + gyro + etc...

If you plan to put in more powerful motor you should go for 8-10amps to minimise chance of burnout...

I am actually going to go with this setup.

johnson 250 main
dd tail
the pixi 7p for the tail esc
pixi 20p for main motor
6channel reciever
the litened ver. heading hold gyro
and lithium thunderpack 1300mah

hope it works out good for me....any opinions on this would be appretiated. Im looking for better stability.

Wow you are spending some serious $$$ I assume you have a heli radio to control it all. In that case why dont you spend an extra $200 and get the zoom400. It is far more advanced and does not suffer from all the fixed pitch related problems... It can also do inverted and all that stuff!

you will only need a single 22-30amp esc and pg03 gyro. you can pick up some cheap gws servos and you are set !!

hey justin_92_92

something to think about when choosing a tail esc, is that tail motors will last longer with a high frequency esc. look into slim105he and trec. these are the 2 highly recommended tail escs on the market. btw, i went with the slim105he

thanx guys...any input is very great to hear. I am still learning how to fly this bad boy so I dont think I should get a cp yet. I will upgrade this one to cp if I ever feel the need for that kind of flight. I cant handle fp yet so I think I should stick with this for a while.
I cant find the slim anywhere. And I would kinda like to get them most from the same place but as far as now.

MY lipos, charger, reciever and hh gyro will come from hellihobby

My pixi7p and if i go with pixi 20p will come from hobby horse

the tx will come from all e rc and the crystal will be from any one of those. I believe thats all I need.

oh and Like90 blades will be added for the last step.

I just want this thing easy to fly.
