Cowling question...
Howdy!
I'm knee-deep in undiscovered territory(first ARF & first cowling) and have a question. I'm fitting the cowling on a Funtana 40S and have no idea where to route the fuel line for refueling access. I'm used to just separating the line at the in-line filter, fueling and re-attaching it. How do do it with a cowled engine? Route it through the cowling with the filter outside? With a Saito 72, will there be enough draw to route the line below the engine and out the bottom of the cowling? Without access to a local hobby shop, and commercially available refueling ports, it's going to have to be a down-and-dirty solution.
Any suggestions?
That reminds me; what type glue is "canopy glue," and what is a good alternative?
Blue skies,
DL

RE: Cowling question...
Use three lines to the tank. one for the carb feed, one for muffler pressure and one additional with pickup for fueling and defueling with a fuel dot or equivalent mounted on cowling or side of fuse

RE: Cowling question...
Any reasonable length of fuel line -less than 10" say- will be just fine.
It should be as short as possible, but don't get in a lather over it.
The pressure line to the tank pumps the fuel in addition to the draw at the carburetor.
"Canopy glue" is RC-56, or something with 56 in the name.
You might check out the wing joiner fix in another Funtana thread here..
There is a potential problem.. but only IF you haven't joined the wings.
