Default Ys63 Break In???

I am finally going to get a YS63. Should be here any day now. I would like to know what the best break in procedure is. A buddy told me he thought he had seen a web site on it, but didn't save it. I plan to put this in a Seduction Free Style at around 4.5lbs. What is the right way to bench run one (prop, fuel, rpm) and then what is better.....APC12x4 or APC12.25x 3.75? Any help from the source would be great. Thanks in advance.

Use YS 20/20 fuel and either a YS #4 or OS type F plug. The props you mentioned are both on the small side but can be used after you understand the engine well. Neither should be run at full throttle for an extended period. A 13x5 or 14x4 is better. Try to keep max rpm at about 11500, no higher. Break in is easy, just fly it rich (which you should do all the time anyway).

Good Flying,
Dave

You mean to tell me this thing will turn a 14x4?? I'm blown away by that!!! I though a 12x4 would be at the upper end, but oh babby, if it will turn that hard, I'm really pumped up now.

We normally run a 12x7 APC. It turns about 10,500 to 11,000. You can run ANY prop that turns from 10,500 to 11,500 and have good luck.

Good Flying,
Dave

Thanks Dave. I have run some of your liner/piston combos in the past with great success! I respect your opinion. Thanks for the advise.
