New Off-Road Track
My R/C Club (Three Lakes R/C Association) is in the process of building an off-road R/C track in Three Lakes, WI. Our town's park commission gave us a 300' x 300' piece of land in one of our town's parks to use, as well as chain link fence to enclose it with. We broke ground on 5/10/04 and weather permitting, we plan on laying down the track's surface this weekend. All of our ducks are pretty much in a row except for lap counting software and a transponder system. Taking into account that we are just starting out and haven't even gotten our non-profit status yet, does anybody know where we can get good quality software and a transponder system from, and not break the bank at the same time? We don't want to invest a bunch of money and end up having the track not make it, even though there is quite an interest in it from the entire community and neighboring communities. Any kind of information and advice is more than welcome and would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

RE: New Off-Road Track
You can always do manual lap counting, which is by far the cheapest way to go, but can be a bit of a pain. AMB make the transponders systems that everyone uses, so check those out. www.amb.nl
Theres no really cheap way to go for a transponder system, unless you can get one second hand from a club that jas converted to the newer personal transponder system.
