AV8R: Adapt to P120
You good guys got any thoughts on how to adapt a P120 to Pat's (PCM Models) AV8R. One suggested adding some length to the nose. Any other thoughts on how to do it. I got all the electronics I need sitting in a box looking for a new fun fly project. I guess as Tam said “I like to wrench”
Disclaimer: I can dial down the thrust but need to adapt to the weight.

The AV8R is a wonderful design for the smaller turbines, but I think it would be very foolish to attempt to strap a KJ-66 size engine on the back of one of them.

AV8R: Adapt to P120
At one point Pat did mention that he was considering making a larger one for 17lb thrust engines, but I don't know how serious he was about it.
I think it is a really ugly airplane, but if he were to make one for the larger engines I would definately buy one, because looks aside it does appear to be a great flying airplane and it would make a great weekend beater, or system testbed.

Ken, if you add frontal area (extend the nose) to the AV8R to give yourself more ballast ahead of the CG, you will reduce stability in pitch & yaw. It may still be adequate, but it will be less. And then again, you may need to add tail volume to keep it adequate. Just something to be aware of.
