Try hobby-lobby.com or helihobby.com . They've got really nice batteries and chargers for a good price at helihobby but take a look at hobby-lobby as well. Good luck!!

Thunder Power 2 cell, 7.4 volt, 2100mah. That will give you about 20 to 25 minutes of flying. Lithium batteries are definitely the way to go, once you try one you will never go back.

I was using LiPos until I found out how volitile they are if you're not really careful.

They can be very dangerous if you don't charge them with the right charger. That are some good chargers out there now.

I am at confusion with Lipos 2s, and 3s packs. I hear a lot of people on the forums saying that 3's will burn out my electronics but i want to go 3's incase i get a CP chopper like a shogun or sometin. I currently own a FP Hummingboard with speerates, century piezo gyro, and century mixer board with a DD tail motor. Would i be safe going with 3's instead of 2's? Thanks guys.

I wouldn't do it, from my understanding it wont take very long and it will burn your board up. I have never tried it, that's just what I have read. A 2 cell will give you all kinds of power anyway, it does on mine.

I use the Hobbico's Quick Field Charger MkII, it works great. The good thing about this charger is you can't screw up when charging a Lipo battery, the charger will not charge any faster then 1 amp, so you don't have to worry abut your battery exploding.

There is no such thing in the RC world. You get what you pay for.

Should we define "cheap" and "good"? They are different for everyone. I am looking for something under 40 bucks to charge a 2 cell lipo.

Does Hobbico's Quick Field Charger MkII use AC power or do you need a car battery? Or something else?

It runs off a 12 volt battery.

They will, you just need a 12v transformer with a high enough amps output if the charger has a built in inverter. If not then you need one with high enough voltage to compensate, I use my cordless drill batteries which is more convenient than a car battery.

I went to walmart and bought a atv battery...a lawn mower battery will work too. I also use the hobbico mkII pro series charger. I like it cause I can charge two packs at once. Here is a story about the 12 volt supply.

I bought one of those adapters that you would find at wallmart that converts your wall plug into a cig. lighter jack. It is isued to use your automotive neon lights in doors. I bought this and ran a small charger for my stock packs. It worked fine. I then bought the hobbico charger. It doesnt have a cig lighter plug on it so I took and bought a cig. lighter plug with the wires off the other end. I put some spade clips on the end so I could clamp my alligator clips that came with my charger to the cig. lighter plug. I then plug it into the adapter and it worked fine. Untill I tried charge 2 packs at once. The max mah output was 1000 and I didnt even read that till after. I was charging 2 packs at 1000mah each....needless to say I fried the adapter. It cracked in half and smelt really bad.

So being upset and wanting a resolve. I went back to walmart and bought a atv battery for $19.99 and it works great. I have it on my desk becouse it is small enough and if I go over to a friends I can bring it with me so I can charge in the house. For 19.99 it is a great deal.

I thought my hobbico charger was bad for a while. I only got about 5 minutes of flight on my 2100mah pack. I just relized my motor was pinching the gear a bit and that would probley be my problem. I am going to test it out tonight.

How long does your charge time take with the hobbico charger? mine takes 45 minutes each pack.

The Apache 1215 is an excellent, safe low cost li-poly charger. I've used one now for the
last six months. I also bought one of those 12 dollar safety circuits from FMA (double protection is always good)
