DA 50 do not idle down in flight. Help.
Greetings,
OK here we go. When the plane is on the ground everything is fine: Idle, midrange, top end etc....Evrything works perfect. However when in the air The engine don't idle down. I have to
lower my trim to maximum to land the plane and wait about 30 sec for the engine to idle down.
The tank, clunk and tubing are all fine .
Am I running to lean?? I am confuse.
Any idea?
Thanks
Serge

To lean on the low needle will cause it not idle down, open it up an 1/16 turn at a time till it burbles midrange then close it back a 1/16, should be perfect. Keep in mind riching the low speed needle also will richen the top end.

I agree: to lean on the low-needle, try the following, open up the low-needle, the high rpm will be to rich, so you have to close that one a bit. Try this with small adjustments. You will find a point where the engine can idle all day long, and still pick up for full power.
