I can't help be be amazed at how many guys that have "never crashed" engines for sale, have dropped them on the garage floor and broken off a cooling fin or two.

Default Amazed

At least they are being honest. Somebody may have a use for an engine in this condition, you never know.

Default I just want to upgrade. Honest!

My dog bit a couple cooling fins off my ZDZ 80.

It's for sale because I want to upgrade to a DA 100.

And my all-time favorite line:

Selling because it's too much power for my plane and I'm afraid of it.

I understand where you guy's are headed with this falling of the bench anomaly, but I can say I have truly knocked an engine off the bench and damaged two cooling fins. Fell right on it's head, broke the fins and never saw fuel previous to this.

It is pretty narrow minded to assume someone is being dishonest IMO... It can and does happen.

Sure there are those guys with creative selling descriptions.

Default Home depot

Home Depot has some nice, thick, snap together, pads for far less than $250 that might serve the same purpose. They're actually designed to make standing on a concrete floor a little easier on the back, but would certainly pad the impact of a falling object.

Why not put the engine in the center of a sufficiently sized table? I have knocked and engine over but never damaged the fins. Bent the linkage and had to replace it. I just try to be more careful in the future.

I have placed my 9C on my car and didn't put it on the ground, like I usually do. The transmitter dropped and scratched the plating. While I wish it never happened, I would not try to sell it as anything other than carelessness on my part.
