Phoenix Models Sukhoi Fuel Tank Mount...HELP!!
I am finishing the Phoenix Models Sukhoi from Tower and am having a hell of a time getting the fuel tank mounted right. The tank that came with the kit (no idea of size) seems to not meet flush with the firewall, which does not allow the stopper flange to sit in the hole on the firewall. The tank has that protrusion on the front that doesn't allow it to fit right. It seems to me that if the tank was exactly rectangular, it would fit right on that former in the forward fuse area. Any experience from those who have treat before me would be great. It's ready to go and I want to fly!!!!!!

I just place the tank as far forward as possible with the stopper behind the opening, then I place the battery and stuff some foam above the tank to keep in place. Also place some foam directly behind the tank to stop it from moving rearward. We do snaps all the time and the tank hangs in there.

I second or third the foam solution, I do the same for all planes and none of my tanks have ever come loose. I do a lot of snap rolls too. Also, none of my tanks ever broke in a crash!

Thanks for the ideas guys..........the foam ideas worked. I found some hi-density foam at work and it did the trick. [sm=cool.gif]
