Have Engine....Need Plane
Hi All,
I have a Quadra 42 engine... Brand new.
But not a clue as to what size plane this will work in.
It could be Scale, kinda Scale, IMAC or Fun type.
ARF is best due to my little time for building.
If anyone has any ideas I'd love it.
(I know sell it)
Thanks for the time to respond.
Hal

Food for thought...
I have a Q42 with a gear reduction in my Byron Mustang. It has an 85" wingspan. The plane weighs about 22 lbs. The Q42 is similar to the US 41. I just purchased a new carb from B&B Specialties which should increase the RPM another 400. The top-flight mustang is an option along with the Great Planes Pitts.....look around you will see there are a lot of options.
By the way.....the Q42 flys my mustang very scale!!
Good Luck however you use it!!!!!

For just a good "fun fly" plane, I have a stinger 120 with a US41 and it flys very well. At 16 lbs the vertical is OK but certainly not unlimited.
I also have a Quadra in my Midwest AT6, but you shouldn't go there if building time is a problem.
The best ARF I've seen with a Quadra 42 is the new Great Planes Pitts at $399.

Have Engine....Need Plane
How old is the Quadra 42? I have a Q-50 and a Q-35. Both are older engines but with very very little run time on either of them. I have been looking for a plane to put them in as well. They seem to be fairly heavy engines so I need a plane that requires nose weight.

Quadra
My engine is new... never run. But I bought it at a Charity Auction and have no idea it sat on someones shelf.
I checked a few stores and found that a 75-80 inch plane is closer to the right size.... Right now a Hangar 9 Edge 540 is the latest possible choice.
Thanks for taking the time to write....

I know I'm a little late for this post but, think about the Lanier Giant Stinger. They build fairly quick fly great and cost about $160 for the kit. I have a G62 w/ C&H ignition and it will hover at 1/2 throttle! A Quadra 42 and up show fly this plane very well for sport type flying.
