Rechargeable Batteries
Hey, I am looking at getting some rechargeable batteries for my Savage. Now I know that rechargeables have a lower voltage than regular alkalines, but is there any serious downside to that? I have heard stories of burning out servos because of the lower power supply. I have also heard that it will be just fine, just that there isnt quite the same amount of power to drive them.
Anyone using rechargeables?

RE: Rechargeable Batteries
I dont run alkalines in any of my cars, rechargables are fine. Go with 1000mah or higher, after you fully charge the first time you should only have to charge them the nite before you run.

RE: Rechargeable Batteries
i think he means AA rechargables...
when i had my tmaxx i used 4 energizer 1800mah rechargables that i picked up from walmart for like $10 and an overnight peak charger for like $10-15. it worked well. i ran the stock throttle servo and a 645 for steering. it lasted me about 9-10 tanks before i could notice them losing the UMPH they used to have. if you use digital servos then you need 6v though because i believe they cut off all movement anything below like 4.6v or something. i have a 5 cell hump now and it is definitely worth it. i only spent $50 or so. this is what i use:
-racer edge 1100mah hump pack($25 i think)
-team losi mini t 4-5 cell peak charger($20)
-futaba female rx battery lead
i just cut off the tip on the mini t charger and soldered on the female rx lead and it charges my pack nicely in about an hour(it is a constant 1.2amp charge rate and goes into trickle charge when its done).

RE: Rechargeable Batteries
hump packs are the way to go, if your running high torque servos and big tires you need something that is gonna deliver the juice to those components, Do you discharge your pack ? RED
