Default Shock oil

Hey guys im not very happy today but my savage took a hard beating but it came out without any damage but, my savage got stuck in a bush and some how one of my shocks came apart and all my shock oil came out does any body know what kinda oil wt. is in these shocks it was my rear shock to be more specific. But i had fun today i did some back flips i lost my air filter but then i found it after an hour it really ticked me off too[:@]. now all i need is shock oil so can anyone help me find out what kind i need so i can fill it back up

dont expect the engine to run too long if the filter was off for an hour, it was probably 40wt oil

no i wasn't running it but 10 minutes w/o the filter i was just looking for it for an hour

In my manual it says the shock oil is 10wt, what do you guys think? Is this the right wt. ?

Yeah,10 is always what I've heard,its THIN.I never even put it in...I had some 30 and 40 wt. silicone oil I put in.

If you go too thick you will start breaking shocks...........

It all depends what you do and where you bash. if you do alot of jumping then i would go to 15 weight and stiffer springs. if u run on the street then I would go to thicker oil and get that low to the ground.

I would agree with the others. If you are gonna bash it keep the stiff springs and lighter oil. I'm racing so I went to a lighter triple rate spring from RCBOYZ on ebay then went to 40 WT oil. This lowers the truck down quite a bit. My dogbones from the diffs to the wheels now are running flat (parallel with the ground). THis is great for racing, but if you land a real big jump less than perfect it will bottom out.
