*Homemade Field Box*
My wife had some old 3/16 ply or whatever it was she bought a while back for one of her little hobbies she does, you know the little stuff you always see at the craft shows. Anyway I used that and an old broom handle, white paint and a piece of my wifes velcro from another one of her projects to hold the fuel bottle and well, there it is. I dont have a pic but boy it looks sharp. I think its better than what I could have bought and it only cost me the paint. what has anyone else made and can we see some pics.

6mm Luan ply, 3/4" aluminum angle, "pop" rivets and backing plates, cheap drawer pull for a handle. I had to buy the drawer pull, everything else was on-hand scrap.
No paint, just the raw materials. Too many fuel and acid spills to count, no rot, still just as lumpy and stout as the day I built it.
Garden tractor battery goes in the lower right compartment, below the power panel. Fuel jug goes in the bottom left compartment below the fuel pump. Doesn't "look sharp", but then it doesn't have to fly or look good, it just has to work.

Forgot to add, I've since added the "U" shaped plane holders on top that are removable. Super easy to do. If you would like, I'll take a pic and post it later.

Here`s my Mk3 field box. It`s getting on for 20 years old now and got repainted about 5 years ago. I went to great lengths to produce the lightest self-contained one I could dream up. It is also 3/16" plywood and self-contained. Hold 2 litres of fuel at one end and Tx hooks to the other for carrying. A 12 volt gel-cell is on the CG in the middle hidden under the power panel.
Tools etc are bare minimum for the flight line or pits and include Sullivan starter in a compartment. I carry a separate small commercial plastic toolbox with lesser required gear in the car where it is available if needed.
I hope it shows up in the attached pic. The two models are O/D sport aerobatic jobs - both getting on for 5 years old and still going. Both are similar design - large one 80" span has OS 1.08 - smaller one 48" span with OS 25 FX.
