Thats right if you do what i tell you, you shouldn't forget anything again.

Ok this is what i do. On your computer you should have Microsoft word of word pad.
With this you can make a list and print it out and have for the morning so when you think you got everything in the car you can make sure.

Example.

Checklist

Airplane

Wing

Nitro Starter

Cone starter

TRANSMITTER!!!

Toolbox

Fuel




You get the idea so just make a list of everything you can think of then just go to computer and make then you have. When your going over to make sure you didn't forget anything just put a check next to TRANSMITTER and there you go. Remember when your going threw the list find the Nitro starter for example and hold it in your hand when your checking it off then just put it back were it goes which is not on the table behind you. hehe.

You can do much the same thing.
Make small labels for each major component you take to the flying field.
Attach the labels to cloths pins, and put them all on your sun-visor.
When you are ready to load up, take each pin from visor and place on/in
Flight box or tack-box.
IF there are any pins left, you will notice them BEFORE you leave.

I actually have a laminated version of that, on 3x5 cards. As well as one for out of town(fun flys), preflight, post- flight, and clean-up/ departure. Its on a snap hook, attached to my Field box. lil grease pencil marks all over it.

I agree checklists are a good memory jogger, and I have used them. But even with a checklist, I have managed to take the wrong wing, or transmitter, for a plane when I was only taking one plane to fly. [:@]

I make return-address type labels with the frequency and type radio on 'em that I stick inside the fuselage. I then can tell at a glance which radio(s) to grab when I'm loading up.

Well, now when we're at the field and I do something or forget something "silly", like forget to turn off my RX on my plane and watch as it dances a mambo as someone else is flying on a shared freq?!?!, my wife asks, "isn't turn off RX on your check list?? Ya gotta love a woman who enjoys this hobby as much as you do!

Trailers are best for memory...since everything stays in all I have to worry about is hooking up the trailer

I know what you are saying, the list is the only way to go. Yesterday, I forgot something and had to return to the house. Luckily I was only out of the driveway when I remembered. Just to show you how bad memory can be, I can't remember today what it was I forgot yesterday. Oh...and I flew on Saturday and left my frequency pin on our frequency board. Came back yesterday and it was still there. This was not one of my better weekends.

The way I have found that works best for me is that I never take anything out of my field box or my field tool box. If it needs to go to the field and I need it at home also I buy 2 of it!!!
