Default Blancing a big bipe

Hi Guys, i am just finishing up my 35% hostetler Pitts, i was wondering about the best way to balance it? can i just bolt it all together and pick it up by the top wing? Any help would be greatly appreciated, i am flying it on a zdz 80, with 5645's all around, and a 5735 on the rudder. Thanks for any help.

It's quite probable that you will have to invert the plane and use the bottom wing to balance it. The c/g for an aerobatic bipe darn near always ends up pretty close to the aft cabane, so picking it up by the top wing does work, but you don't end up with much room left on the top wing to move around on. Plus, the bottom wing is straight, and easier to align fingers at the ends with.
