No upgrade. In fact, the latest issue of Tower Talk says that the controller for G2 won't even work with G3. There is absolutely not going to be an upgrade.
What they are saying is that there will be a rebate program for G2 owners. I haven't found any specifics yet.

My computer crunched the disc for G2 so I called to get a replacement. There will be no upgrade,
(components not compatible) info on system requirements, rebate, look on web site. First deliveries, in three weeks.

So ... what is the difference between an "upgrade" from G2 to G3 at a discounted price, and a "rebate" on G3 for current G2 owners?
Either way it sounds like G2 owners can get G3 for less than $200 ... how much less remains to be seen I'm also curious to see what you have to do to get the rebate ... will they want your G2 disc as proof?
With no heli support until the spring, I will probably stick with G2 and AFP. I also use my G2 controller for AFP, and I'm not interested in a new controller that will only work with G3 (as advertised in Tower Talk).
The program sounds great ... but the customer support not so great. Hopefully the folks at Great Planes get this right

The rebate is going to be $50 for owners of G2.
That is an insult !
Especially for buying a product that right now will not even be complete and the physics will be the same as G2.
