Default Brushless setups?

I am very new to electrics, and I just got my FEDA dragonfly. It flies good...actually a bit better than I had expected. I am wondering what are the benefits of brushless motors, and why do you need a new ESC. do I also need a new ESC for the tail if I go brushless with that. Any response is helpful...thank you

Brushless motors run on AC current not DC, thats also why Brushless motors have 3 wires instead of 2. Your average ESC runs on DC current and only has 2 connecting wires for the motor!

Also Brushless motors will run with no maintenace required, while brushed motors need the brushes replaced every so often. Brushless motors are also smaller and lighter, givng longer flight times by reducing weight!

If you use a brushless motor on the tail, then the tail motor will also need a Brushless ESC!

If I'm not mistaken, brushless run on DC, but 3 phase DC.

Atlernating current means it alternates between + and -, where DC is always + or 0.

Brushless is AC motor. Think of phased DC has simulated AC.
