Default Petrol vs Nitro?

ok im sick an tired of wanting to go out race and getting to were i am and then the Engine just wont stop being a proper ****! (Wont start, stalls, floods, ) im sick of it! my hpi's .15 just died on me 2day it really wasn’t happy, stalled constantly at tick over no matter what I did! And my TRX 2.5 was being a total twat the day before! But this time the thing wounded even ****ing start! Just flooded all the time!( i tried everything )

Any way my point is do you still have the same problems with a petrol engine? Like do you have to play with the high speed needle ( if there is one ) to compensate for air pressure changes and stuff? Or do u just fill them up break the engine in by running around slowly and cooling cycles or what ever then ur off? And the engine just deals with air pressure changes its self or is there still a bunch of fiddling about with needle settings??

chears oli

this thread would be get much more response in the large scale forum.

gas engines or petrol engines as you call them are much more forgiving when it comes to the ambient conditions. they dont need to be retuned as much and the temperature outside is of much less concern.

Blood Lust - I think you live near me !

Nitro is much more sensitive than the big Petrol (we know what we mean ) engines.
I dont often read the large scale pages but there have been a few posts saying how much easier and more fun things are with Petrol over nitro.
They Just cost the earth to buy!

there is still some need to tune a petrol engine, but for performance rather than just to get it to run.
but petro 2 strokes are more sensitive to tuning cockups - run your tmaxx too lean and you can probably dial it back again before any real damage is done. But 2 stroke petrol is known for "runnig at its best just before it blows up" so a twist too far and it is rebuild time!
