How big a gas tank.....
What size tanks would be most appropriate for: 1-- a US-41, and 2-- a G26. I don't need 30 min. flight time, looking for the "standard" size, something that would give me about 15 minutes. These are 1/4 scale, mostly cruising, but occasional full throttle. (L-19 and L-4)

RE: How big a gas tank.....
I have found that a good estimate of fuel consumption is the following:
Fuel consumption at full throttle in cc of fuel per min = the engine displacement in cc
cc/min divided by 30 = ounces per min consumed at full throttle.
a 75 cc engine would consume 75 cc of fuel per minute or 2.5 ozs per min.
This rule of thumb slightly over estimates the fuel consumption of single cylinder engines and slightly underestimates the fuel consumption of twins.
Hope this helps

RE: How big a gas tank.....
I've got a G-23 with a 16 oz in a Lazy Ace. Runs 15 minutes easy with 4 or 5 ounces left over. Ran a G-62 in a Giant Stinger on a 20 oz. tank, and never used over 14 oz. of it on a 15 min. flight. Got a DA-50 now with a 16 oz. installed. After a 15 minute flight, there is 4 to 5 oz. left.

You'll be fine. I put a 20 oz in my Edge/DA-50, and got tired of landing with 8 oz. left, so when I put the Extra together, I went with the 16 oz to start with. I didn't hear my timer go off the other day when I was flying, and stayed up an extra 5 minutes. When I landed, I only sucked an ounce out of it. I was lucky.

RE: How big a gas tank.....
Hi
75cc per min ..... even at full throttle .... sounds scary even for 75cc engine.
That is 4.5 litres of fuel per hour (1.18 gallon per hour)!
Even my car doesn't drink that heavily..... can almost drive 1 hour with 1 galloon of fuel!
Also, I think my 63cc Fuji drinks about 33cc per min at full throttle ........... it still seems a bit rich with oil splattering.
