Easy replacement Dragonfly landing gear
This is a durable option for people who keep breaking their carbon gear struts.
A standard coat hangar bent to whatever shape you want. Adds a little weight but still getting 10 minute flights. I had to file down the ends that insert into the frame so they were the same diameter as carbon struts. I made mine taller than the OEM gear so the tail rotor wouldn't hit the ground. Also I can now drive it around on the ground without the typical bouncing.
After I finish with the hard landings while learning nose in hover I plan on taking them off.

That is a great idea that does save a lot os hassle.
The wire deforms, absorbing impact forces rather than transfering them to the rest of the frame, just like the 'crumple zone' of a car.
I used thinner wire. .047 music wire, and a hot glue gun gave us this:
