Default Honey Bee 2 with 9C Tx

Hi,
Has anybody been able to fly a HB2 with a futaba 9C tx, I have tried but the led on the 4in1 board just flashes red/green/red/green etc, the same as if the heli battery is connected with out the tx being switched on first. I have tried different crystal combinations but nothing appears to work! I e-mailed Hobbyjapan about this and they suggested modifying the heli 4in1 board by soldering in a futaba rx, which I thought was a bit beyond my ability and as it woks ok with the tx that came with it I'll just have to use that, I'm just trying save charging another set of batteries.

Default RE: Honey Bee 2 with 9C Tx

Chorlton you can use your futaba 9c as long as its on the same channel as the honey bee receiver.
I have been using my hitec eclipse to fly my HB since my radio has a synthesizer module which I tune to the same channel . I dont know which crystals you are using but I know for sure that if you use the wrong brand crystal the receiver wont work. I tried to use hitec single conversion crystals on HB receiver to use my 9c and had the same effect as you. Im not sure which crystals the HB uses as there are quite a few brands
cirus-hitec-futaba-gws etc. You can buy a module for the 9C that is the same channel as the crystal in the HB
but they are expensive '$49+ bucks'
