Default Honey Bee 2, wrong holder position?

Is your battery holder positioned like mine? [&o]

Looking at the manual figure, it's seems in the wrong position...

I just got a HB2 and it seems that my position is the same as yours... there are two rubberbands that i use and that seems to work fine for now.. everything seems to be balanced... i am not to the point of hovering it yet but hope to be doing that in the next week or so... If i would have to guess because this is all new to me i would have to say that it looks ok... maybe some more advanced flyers will have another opinion. Good luck with your new machine.

I know of the best way to mount it...i dont have a pic but maybe i can explain it

normal :______---|||-----------------|||-------- this makes the copter slightly backheavy

_________________| battery |

_____________---|||-----------------|||--------

New way__-----------------------+-|||--+--------------------------------||| this corrects the backheavyness
zip ties

__________| Battery |

_________-----------------------+-|||--+---------------------------------|||

if this is confusing maybe i can clear it up. the normal way is mounted between the laning gear. the new way is i exteneded the carbon rods by zip tieing one on each side. this mounts the battery ahead of the landing gear. your body wont fit anymore but you can hover with no hands if you set it up right. also im using a 2cell 7.4v lithium witch is much lighter. i just rubber banded it on there.
edit: the underscores dont mean anything they represent spaces also this was done on a mini dragonfly i dont know if it can be done on this copter

My holder is in the same position. I use the 11.1v, 3 cell. With the battery attached, and the machine balanced very slightly nose heavy, the canopy just does go on without it moving the battery.

Now that's interesting. My HB2 isn't configured like that. It has a 'shelf' foreward of the motor for the 4-in-1. From front-to-rear my components are: 4-in-1, motor, front servo (on right side of mast, facing foreward), slight gap, two rear servos (both facing foreward). It seems I cannot make balance suggestions!

It also appears that yours has the swashplate's antirotation pin facing foreward, while mine faces the rear - odd.

With my HB2 it's balanced using the rubberbands.. no problem hovering... you have a diff. battery than I do, probably a different weight.
