Default Kat 40 ARF Assembly troubles

Hi Guys. I encountered a problem with my Kat 40 while assembling. The cut-out for the horizontal stabilizer wasn't deep enough. I didn't realize this until after I had glued it in. When I went to put the rudder on I realised the problem. The stationary part (not the elevator) is flush with the back of the fuse whereas the the elevator should be flush with the back of the fuse according to the pictures. I think I can notch the rudder enough to make it work but I'm leery of the strength of the rudder after these mods. I guess I could strip the covering and beef it up but that is of course adding weight. Has this occurred before? I'm only telling you this so you can check out the problem for the next batch. I went back through and checked the manual to see if had missed something but I hadn't. Let me know what you think.

Thanks Mr. Bass. I did the same thing. I'm now installing the radio. It looks fine.

That's correct. We've identified the same problem but it's an easy fix to carve out a small notch for clearance.

Mine came cut out from the factory, so all I had to do is cut away some monokote.

I did then have to use the sanding wheel on the dremmel to add a little more clearence.

Here is a site with some good video of a katana 40 profile flying.
