Well how about this - I finished up the last hours of daylight in 2004 flying a Ringmaster I got a a swap shop for $20, as the sun went down and it got dark I flew Lazy 8s against the glow of the just set sun. A perect end to the year.

How are you doing on Vanc. Island? Have you made contact with Wingfloat, Norm P. and Mo?

I was going to work on a couple of ARF Flite Streaks, but didn't. Sigh. Steve

Steve,
Yes I did get contact with wingfloat. We already went flying, actually it was on christmas eve!!! lol. We both done 3 flights. He had the junior nobler and I was flying the skyray .049 and the stop sign .049. He's a much better flyer than me but he's been flying much longer than me!

Well I went flying again yesterday and now I have spend some time in the shop. The ARF FliteStreak exploded on impact during a wingover, and the Ringmaster needs the fin and stab re-attached (I dumb thumbed it into the ground while flying inverted ). Still better than a day doing almost anything else.

I have not been out to fly since the Wednesday before New Years day. We have been under ice and freezing temperatures since. So I have been working on the Jumbo, Falcon 35 and proceeded to finish an ARF Flite Streak with LA 25 for power. Will be sharing the Streak with the grand daughters. May start posting here more as the others are getting too polical and forgetting what control line is all about. "FUN" Later, -DOC

I went out yesterday with my stooge and flew four patterns with my new Walter Umland Shark 15. It seems to turn a little tighter outside than inside, so maybe I have a small misalignment, or need a slight handle adjustment. I think the leadouts may need to go a hair forward, but it has good tension up top. I'm flying round maneuvers pretty well with it, but some of my corners are good and some are not. I've been flying Old Time Stunt for the past several months, so I'm not as dialed in on flying the modern pattern as I need to be. I have to think about the reverse wingover, for example, and left out the hourglass on one pattern, flew three overhead 8's in another, etc.

I hope to fly it in Classic at the VSC. I flew a scratch-built Shark 15 there in '99. I like to have flown 50 reasonable patterns with an airplane before I compete with it. The present Shark now has 5 patterns on it. The one I flew at the VSC, that was patterns 20 and 21, so I don't always manage.

Going flying this afternoon.

Hey Jim,

Is it possible the pushrod might be bowing a little?

Tight lines,

FIX IT, do you know of anyone producing a "RINGMASTER" in ARF or kit form? I flew one of these during the 50's
and early 60's and would like to do so again now to suppliment my .049 C/L activites.

Please excuse the spelling but I am from TEXAS

Lee,

Since you were probably not actice at the time, an explanation about OT-Legal is probably appropriate.

Sterling revised the Ringmaster by sheeting the leading edge, plastic canopy, nylon controls, and a few other things. They called the revised kit the S-1A version (with the original remaining S-1). Only the original S-1 is allowed to compete as Old Time Stunt (planes flown prior to 1953).
They changed the Ringmaster Jr. also but did not rename it.

Thanks guys for the replys. Please accept my appoligies for the tardy peply but some of these medical proublems can sure slow you down.

I will investigate both responses and try to get a ringmaster on the board soon.

There is nothing like a goal to get you going and nothing like no info to slow you down.

Thanks again.
