Default Exhaust on TF P51

On the TF P51 I glued on the molded exhaust on the cowl as instructed, but when i put the cowl back on the fuselage, the extended exhaust had a gap of at least 1/4" away from the body. Any suggestions of what to do now?

Mine are the same way, but no one has ever noticed it. It's an ARF.

What has happened Flyboy is when you glue the balsa wood inside the plastic exhaust it make it very straight and when you put the cowl over the fuselage it does not follow the curve of the fuselage. Therfore it sticks out away from the body about a good 1/4". Doesn't yours? If it doesn't, what did you do to make it fit tight from the extended piece?
