Florida, and the Tucson jet rally in one week made for lots of driving last year. The up side was that Justin and I each flew about forty flights that week. I probably wont be able to do that again this year. Ditto to what Justin said about Tucson, its probably my favorite west coast rally. CD Debbie Sharrow runs a great event. I thought I heard that the runway has been expanded?

Tucson International Modelplex Park Association 160 unobstructed acres for radio control flying ,750 X 75 ft paved runway (with run off) 16 x 168 ft of Ramada Shade, Six Fenced pilot stations, paved pit area. Electricity, water, flush restrooms and phone available. 18 large work tables (4x8). Gravel parking area. Room for motor home parking. (See map for other alternatives at TIMPA Web site (http://www.timpa.org)
Pilots arriving before Friday March 11 must make prior arrangements (Field gate will be locked)
Please note all aircraft must fly the full pattern. This will include electrics, ducted fans and turbines
Trophies For: Best Electric, Best Ducted Fan, Best Turbine, Best Scale Flight, Best Finish and Markings, Peoples Choice, Most Spectacular Flight, Contest Director's Award.

I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express/Cortaro.....nice rooms.....decent rates...Cracker Barrel on adjacent property for breakfast if you want more than continental at the motel.....easy access to TIMPA.....all the motels are about a 20 minute ride +/- to the field...
