Default Cleaning iron socks

Is there anything that will clean the adhesive out of iron socks? There's nothing I hate more than smearing the color of a previous model all over a new plane. Thanks.

Well, no.

But here's an idea...

... baby socks! Yep, just go into the infants clothing department and get a pack or two of pure cotton baby socks. Pull 'em over the covering iron, afix with a rubber band, and you'll always have a clean, scratchless covering iron for mere pennies!
