airplane for G-38
I am looking for an airplane for my G-38 Gas Motor. It can be a Kit or ARF. I want an airplane that flies good. Does not have to be the Extra or Edge type Airplane.

I have one in an IKON NW Monocoupe spanning 96" and weighing 22 lbs. Has more than enough power and usually is flown at somewhere around 1/2 throttle after takeoff and climb out. Has plenty of power for large diameter loops and strong climb.
Have seen 38s at the field on Rookies, Ultra Sticks, and Robin Hood 99s. All performed well.

The late Dan Santich designed the Ultra Hots around the G38...I think Dale Abell was going to make a kit...

It's a great flying airplane, mine has a G62 on it, unlimited vertical....I have another built with contest grade balsa, much lighter don't know the weight yet..l
Mine were built by a friend from plans....

A giant scale Citabria would be nice. I've seen a G38 power 100" plus planes very well. If you are a warbird fan, the 108" Cessna L-19 is a great match. The TF Stinson Reliant SR9 is another bird many power with the G38. What kind of flying are you going to do?

Alan:
I would like a plane to do rolls, loops, 4-point rolls, etc. I have looked at the 1/4 Scale Cubs and Clipped Wing Cubs, Sig, BUSA, etc. I have also looked at the Dynaflite Decathlon. This may be my best bet. Over the years have flown pattern, IMAC type Aircraft. I think I want an airplane that is relaxing and fun to fly. That being said, I will examine all suggestions.

RE: airplane for G-38
the ultra hots is a truly awesome airplane .... i had a q42 on mine with a 20x10 apc prop it was a joy to fly in the wind so stable it was crazy.... it would hover into a 10mph breeze. flat spin, knife edge spin.. very responsive with high throws and a real puxxycat with milder throws.. mine weighed 14.5 lbs. but i made the wing out of foam and also made it 2 pieces. joined with a 1.5 piece of alluminum... with phenolic tubes in the wings.. gosh i miss her ............. lost her due to radio failure...........hmmmmm i may have to order some plans and start again........ still have the landing gear
Happy Flying..
