Default setup help for 79" yak arf

ok so maybe im having a brain fart but here is my problem
on the 79" omp yak arf i cant get both elevator haves to travel
the same distance in the up & down travel the control horns are the
same length on the elevators and the control arms on the servos
are the same length - the elevator control horns are in the same distance
from the fuselage on both halves - i am using digital servos that i
have reset to factory spec. with a servo controller - i have used this
model of servo before with out any problems - i have looked at the
build cd and photos of other 79" yak,s and my servos are in the correct
location and the servo arms are pointing the correct direction - both halves
of the elevator are centered when the servos are at neutral - both servos
move at the same time and it looks like both are traveling the same amount
but im not sure of this - the amount of travel on one side is about a 1/2" less
than the other side
i know im am just missing something DA
boy this was driving me nuts last night

I had this problem one time and it was because I had the #1 (airleron) channel set at 120% and the #6 (flaperon) channel set at 100% for the end points on my radio. Hope this helps.

One other thing to check is your control horn position on the elevator. They both should be mounted on the elevator so the pushrod connection holes are directly centered over the hinge line. If they are both not centered over the hinge line they you will get different arcs from the same amount of servo travel. If one is off from the other just a little bit it can make a huge difference on these 3D planes. The amount of control surface deflection we set these up for really shows if a control horn is out of line. Hope that helps.

The problem is you have the servos Y-ed together. Nobody in the giant scale circles do this as it's almost impossible to get a perfect match on both sides given tolerances of servos and other hardware in our hobby. When running dual elevator servos you should run each to a separate channel (usually 2 and 8) and mix them together in the transmitter. All modern computer radios have this program predone for you and all you need to do is activate the ailevator function. Or just do a P-mix of 8 to 2. Once you do this set all your endpoints, subtrims, etc. to defaults and then set your linkage geometry as close as you can. Then fine tune the subtrim to get the proper center position and finally the endpoints to match on both channels up and both down. Then go fly your butt off!
