FMS - Futaba - Win98 interface problems
Has anyone out there got the zener diode interface listed on the FMS website to work? I put one together today and can't get anything out of it. I checked the settings in FMS and they match my parallel port settings. Tried two different transmitters, (7UAPS and Conquest 4Ch FM) but both do the same thing - nothing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I tried it with an older 4 Ch FM transmitter, too, and had the same luck. Oh well, I was trying to get it up and running for my 12 yr old son to help him get the hang of the sticks between trips to the field. I'd thought about getting him G2 for Christmas, but I hope by that time, he won't need it anymore.
Sigh.....

There are many other FMS interface designs and they all work better than the zener diode version. I usually use the 2-transistor serial port version from the manual but I've seen simple single transistor parallel port versions that work too e.g. http://www.heliguy.com/nexus/fmsinterface.html
Make sure you have the trainer plug wired correctly. Some websites give the wrong pinouts. It should be signal on pin 4 and ground on sleeve and pin 6.
