MW-44 Powered F-7 Cutlass (video)
This project has been a long time in the making.
Today we finally got the engine and accessories installed along with the 4 fuel cells plus UAT.
We decided to give it a small taxi test to see how much push the 44 is going to give us.
The 44 is obviously going to be way more than enough power to get this thing off the ground in a hurry.
Here is some video from today's start and run.
Hope to test fly it in the next few weeks.
Just pulled 3 more out of the molds as well. Maybe we will have a fleet flying by summer

Looks good Ronnie
The 7 #'s of thrust should push the Cutlass better than the full scale (Kidding) . It should really zoom down a tarmac surface compared to that primitive surface the taxi test where done.
Semper Fi

Actually the prototype does fly better than the full scale, and it doesn't leak hydraulic fluid everywhere[X(]. Yes that surface is primitive, we will be shooting some video off of grass and tarmac. We want this model to be able to be flown off of small grass fields. It is looking real promising.
Hey Ronnie the video looks good, BTW I am getting all the parts together for Pauls kit.

RE: MW-44 Powered F-7 Cutlass
Hey Gazzer, kids are great, babies turned 8 months yesterday and one is almost walking already.
The F7 is something we have been playing with for almost 10 years now. First it was a ducted fan but because of it's size, the only power available was from a modified Kress fan and a K&B 7.5cc motor. Performance was not too hot.
We kind of shelved it for a long time until the small turbine engines became available.
Tom built new molds and utilized up to date composite building methods and now we are able to pull the entire airframe wings and all out as one piece primed. It comes out extremely light and very strong. We have flown the plane many times with an O.S. 46 fan engine propped on the nose and the plane is very fast and agile. I have even crashed it a few times before we got the CG correct and it holds together pretty well in a hard impact.
We hope to fly the turbine version very soon. Just waiting on the brakes and we are all set. Maybe next weekend!
