Default GSP.com CAP232 CG warning

Hi all,

Just a note about the CG on the GiantScalePlanes.com Cap 232 80" ARF. This instructions say to place the CG 1/3 back from the leading edge of the wing. This is way too far back, as I found out the hard way. I got the plane back, but it was real hairy for a bit.

I and a friend (aerospace engineer) manually calculated the mean aerodynamic chord, and using 25% of that, reset the CG to 4.25" back from the leading edge as a starting point. The plane flew great at that CG location.

I've notified GiantScalePlanes.com about this, and suggested that they update their instructions as soon as possible.

Other than the CG issue, I have no complaints about this plane. Constructions is good, as is the covering. I can tell that I'm going to have fun with this plane, once I get used to it. :spinnyeye

Regards,
...jim
