RE: Mini Quake Crawler?
it is independent suspension so unless u want to fad up your own parts for a new chassis and a way to lock out the ifs and irs then i would say buy a tlt

RE: Mini Quake Crawler?
I think he means, lock diffs., fab chassis, & make the axles solid. Some people make the axle solid by putting metal bars where the shocks would go to make it have solid axles, then 4-Link it.

RE: Mini Quake Crawler?
got a pic? i have a photographic memory, lol, i only understand pics, rather then words..
Here's what i plan
lengthen Wheel base to 11" (it's 9.8 right now)
4 link, dunno how yet... any ideas?
lock the diffs (i have 2 so i'll keep one stock and one crawler....)
so you mean... take metal bars, and replace the shocks with them? then 4 link it... as in mount bellcranks to the chassis and put shocks on it.. to give it more articulation? lmk thanks

RE: Mini Quake Crawler?
Sorry no pics, good plan for it. Yes, take metal bars, that are the same length as fully extended shocks, put ball ends on the bars & put them in instead of shocks. Then make some links & a chassis. Look at Orange Appeals' 4 Linked Twin Force, he did a great job with his, that should give you some idea on how to four think. Make them chassis out of 1/16" thick alumium with about 1/4" to 1/8" aluminum rods for cross members; use that same aluminum rod to make the links. You will also need ball ends & 6-32 threaded rod.

RE: Mini Quake Crawler?
Yeah doing that will give you some good articulation, although all you really need is 50-65 degrees. The stock chassis is junk, fab one, then make some links that mount to the axle's & the chassis, you will have to guess on the link lengths at first, then adjust to get the wheelbase you want.

RE: Mini Quake Crawler?
Just mount the shocks from the axles to the top of the chassis. If I could figure out how to post pics I'd show you a chassis design I drew.[:@][:@]
