Can you paint APC prop tips?
I run 15x6 - 16x4w props and would like the tips to leave a trail... it looks cool and would make me feel safer to boot. Do people do this? Does it work well? Does the paint get thrown off over time? Balance issues?

Just rebalance after painting and you'll be fine. I know a guy who does this with every apc he uses. If you want to ask him, do a google search for Radio Control Model World, then look for Aerodynamic Forum with Alasdair Sutherland.

I dip the prop tip in a paint jar to get the balance right. Let it hang for a minute to let most of the paint drip off. Don't consider the prop balanced till the paint is good and dry.
White background with a flourescent yellow or orange overcoat on the tip makes the prop stand out better than a sore thumb.

What type of paint should I use on APC props?
I like the idea of priming it white then adding a color
Thanks all.

Good point on the tip shape... will be some trial and error in how much to paint vs visual effect. I'm running the apc wide props on a couple planes at the moment... the wide ones have a lot more tip to work with. Will track down some paint and give it a go.

Well alrighty then... will try nail polish. Any need to prime when using nail posish?
Yeah, it's not just standing in line with the nail polish... I'm sure the color makes an impression too...

No need to prime with nail polish, and you's d be amazed at the colors it comes in! I just take in the cowl or wheel pants or a bit of covering material. The girls in the shop think it's a great joke and are very helpfull! Easy to touch up the paint if you scrape a prop.
