Default Windows XP and G2 problems help

I hope some body can help with this a have a new computer with the G2 I allso since I donot have a game port I had to buy a USB convertor cable called a Rock fire to be able to connect the transmitter to computer .I followed all the directions for both the Rock Fire and G2 .The problem is that it refuses to see the game adapter soo it does not see the Transmitter. It keeps telling me that the game port is not alined or the drivers are not there. But in the contol panel the G2 cotroler is there but it will not let me chose it .It sees the Usb cable as new hard ware and tells me it is ready I go to control panel and it is there just like it is supposed to do .I hope some one can give me some help I have allready downloaded the upgrades to G2 and it still did not help.

Default Windows XP and G2 problems help

Sometimes, USB adaptors which emulate other ports don't work all that well. You may want to install a sound card (example Sound Blaster Live) and use the game port on it.

Default Windows XP and G2 problems help

You need to manually install the driver for the controller.

Here is how:
For XP

Go into the Windows Control Panel
Go into System
Go into Hardware
Click on the Add Hardware Wizard
Click on Next and let it scan just for the fun of it ( no choice)
Click on Yes ( Already Connected)
Click on install manually from a list
Click on show all devices.
Click on Have disk
Copy Manafacturers files from C:\Program Files\RealFlight
Click on next,
Realflight driver should appear.
Click on next
Click on next
Click on View/Change resources
Click on Set Manually
Make sure use automatic resources is selected
Click on OK
Click on Finish

Reboot and you should be good to go.
Copied from anouther XP-G2 thread
