Default Zagi XS and Mega 16/15/3

I currently have a Zagi XS with a Eflight 400 motor and a 5x5 stock prop and 1500 8cell battery packs. We clocked it at around 68 MPH. I am going to upgrade it tommorow with a Mega 16/15/3 with CC35 and 6x5.5 prop same batteries. What kind of performance differance do you think will this do for me? (Guestimated speed) Are there any precautions I should take?

Thanks,

HeyRobi

Not sure speed...but try LiPo...

I have a 1615/4 in my XS with a CC25 ESC...and it is fine with the stock NiMh battery but
WoooHooooo..it comes alive with a Kokam 15C discharge 2000mAh battery...

Not sure the speed, but every time I fly it at the club field I hear from behind me.... "Man, that thing is fast....."

The Mega with XS is an awesome combo. ! I'm flying a 4 turn Lipo powered XS and hear the same comments as exeter. If you go with the Lipo, re check the CG, depending on which one you go with. The Lipo makes a BIG difference!

Happy Flying!

Heyrobi,

Tell me please... I put an eflite 400 on my Zagi XS and it went like a BOH with the standard 1700MA brick battery BUT that motor got so hot I couldn't believe it!! Somebody told me the eflite 400's were only for use with a gearbox. Do you know anything about that? I was running a 5x5 on a CC25.

UH34D From what Eflight tells me your fine! I had calle dthem becasue mine got hot too. They told me if it burns up send it back and they will replace it for free!! The only reason I switched to a Mega is because I broke the shaft on the E400 in a dumb crash on launch! (Elevator Trim was all the way up!). I bought another 400 but never put it in and decided to use it for a mini Funtana project.

Good Luck and enjoy the speed!!!

It should work fine, but always check the current draw. 30 amps is max.

If you need more kick, a 3s lipo and a 5.5x4.5 prop would do the trick. If lipos are not in your future, than I'd look at a larger cell since you are pulling so many amps.
