What is it?
If you have ever been in concourse E at Miami International Airport, you will see a HUGE sea plane model hanging from the ceiling. It is done up in a Pan American Airlines scheme and bares the name Dixie Maden. It appears to have working ailerons and flaps, etc. and was most likely intended to be an actual flying model rather than just a display hanging from the ceiling. It really is a shame to see such a beautiful bird just hanging! Does anyone know any history on this particular model? Who built it, has it ever actually flown and is it a kit or scratch built?
