What's wrong with a quality straight edge and a sharp blade?
I try to avoid sanding dust when possible, especially if there's another way to accomplish the same result.

Been my experience that the wood grain causes some wander, no matter how hard you try. I made a simple fixture out of two Home Depot pre-made shelves, a piece of angle iron 4 feet long, a couple of bolts and some sticky back roll sandpaper. You can do the same thing with aluminum bits form the hardware store. I just wanted a heavy tool that I didn't have to clamp down. There was an article in Flying Models a few issues back that showed a similar tool.

This is how I do it. I plan to build a better one with a formica surface which will be more slippery.

Cafeenman,
Thanks, that was the link I was looking for. Nice to know it will work with several sheets stacked.
