RE: PT-17 STEARMAN DUMMIE ENGINE
If you measure up the size of pot rings on drwg .. get a hole saw & use thin aircraft ply , make a bunch of discs to suit sizes , Then get a piece of dowel about 3/8" diam & thread the discs down accordingly to make a dummy pot , glue together , then you have to make a cylinder for pots to fit on , add the plug wires & other bits . Is a little bit involved , but easy when you have done it once . Get a n eng cylinder head & i think you will figure it out .

RE: PT-17 STEARMAN DUMMIE ENGINE
Hi,
I was just thinking of the same solution as I was reading your request. One thing that I would add is that after you build five cylinders, you can cut them in half vertically. This will cut the work and weight in half. It will also allow room for the engine in back.

Balsa USA had a demo Stearman built up with the RCS 215 5-cylinder radial on it. It flew and sounded just awesome. This makes for a great airplane/engine combo.
