question about 2 servo setups
Okay... I'm not new to flying or building, but new to larger scale. I've seen diagrams with one servo having it's arms connected to corresponding arms to a second servo, and then to the control surfaces from there. What is the exact purpose of that ? I'm guessing it's to increase torque / provide a backup .. is that correct ? Sorry if this is a stupid question .. TNT

Very good question. Doubling up on your servos will give you the power and torque that you need for your rudder on the larger size airplanes. The added torque is needed when the airplane is requiring a large amount of throw like the rudder. In knife edge. there is a Lot of stress on the servos and if the power and torque is not there the aircraft will fall out or possibly strip the gears of the servos that you have in the your plane.
