The Maverick, a .25 powered float flyer
Hello float plane fans,
I thought I would share a few pictures of my scratch built/designed .25 sized float flyer I call the Maverick. The pictures were taken at a float plane fly-in this past Saturday at Gun Lake in western Michigan. It was originally designed in 1989 as a .25 sized sport flyer and with the addition of a set of John Sullivan foam floats was transformed into a sweet float plane. I prefer this size as it is easier to take along on vacation. Power is a O.S. .25FX swinging a MAS 11-4 prop with a ready to fly weight of 3-1/4 lbs. It will jump off the water in 15 to 20 feet at full throttle or will run on the step at 1/2 throttle for those long realistic take-offs.
Thanks for letting me share!
