Default radio for the hotspot

Hello,
I have a hotspot turbine and just recieved my bobcat xl yesterday and need a radio for these jets.
What is a nice radio (synthicized prefered) that has nine channels or more?
Is used a safe idea for a radio purchase?

I am using Jr 9303. Same price range as futaba 9C and with a lot memory space to store up to 30 models.

The 9C, 9Z are good choices and if money is not an object the 14MZ is an excellent radio, all have fully synthesized receivers and tranxmitter.

I would advise downloading the manuals for all of the radios you are considering and reading through them to see which one you like the programming features of.

Has anyone bought a used radio and is this a good or bad idea?
I only ask this because money is a factor but I won't cut conners because of money.
Just thought if a used radio is OK I would still have some cash left for fuel pump and can as well as butane and ect ect ect.

Hola:

i have a used ff9.
I dunno what it was, but I lost my extra due to radio problems.
And almost my flair leo.
But the ff9 in a great radio.

if you get a 2nd hand radio, it is a good idea to send it back to
futaba (or whoever your dealer is) and get it checked out.

Im sending my ff9 back to ripmax next week.
No harm in a check up.
Well worth it, especially as you are going to use them in jets.

Volkan, you learned the hard way. sorry about your loss .

never, ever buy a second hand radio unless you know very, very well the previous owner and what he did with it... and even in this case
you should think twice because Futaba and JR have beautiful (new) radios for about $400-$500 that are suitable for flying anything.

Best regards, Enrique

Thanks for all the help I'll wait and get a new radio probably the 10x as that seems to be local favorite here and can get help to program. Just will take a couple extra weeks before I'll be able to fly, that is OK as I don't want to hurry and overlook anything prior
to the first flight.Again thanks for the help and I'll post pics of the maidens asap as I have a camera on the ground for still shots, video on the ground for flying vid,and one in the canopy for on board in flight so when I get a radio I'll be set.

Thanks,
x-planes
