Default pitching props and silencer qustion

1. Does any one know a good website that explains how to add pitch to a prop, or make it push more water, I have searched and came up with nothing.

2. I made a homemade silencer that attaches to the end of my homemade pipe and I was wondering if the size of the holes in the inner 1/2 inch tube inside the silencer or the amount of holes has to do with how quiet I can make it.
