Default Airplane for G-62 with CH ignition - recommendation?

I have a G-62 with electronic ignition.

I was looking at the wild hare edge 540.

Anyone have any recommendations for a any other good aerobatic plane for this motor?

I know it is a little heavy, but it is what it is

thanks

Bill

Best bang for the buck is any 28% Wild Hare plane. got a Cap and Yak coming in too.

PS I have the edge 540 and the extra special.

I have a G62 on CH in a World Models 80" Extra 300S--Patty Wagstaff colors

Weighs 15.5 pounds and flies SWEEEEEEAT

JR8231 digitals on both ailerons. JR8231 on both elevators. JR8411 on rudder--push/pull in the tail. JR4271 on throttle and choke.

Tank on the CG. 2700mah 6V MH RX batt and RX on a lite-ply tray just behind the cockpit area. It's right under the front of the turtledeck.

DuBro #866 HD Control Horns on ailerons and elevators. DuBro #866 on the rudder too.

I put the rudder in the tail for balance. It's just set up with a H9 Prolink for a push/pull.

Hanger 9 Titanium ProLinks on all the control surfaces.

1200mah 6V MH on ignition.

Pilot---------Kermit the Frog[:-]

This plane is lighter and flies better than my Kangke Laser 2000 with ZDZ60.

It's my favorite plane. I know it's old news--lots of newer, better, more expensive stuff out there. But, it flies straight and tracks true. It's not the absolute BEST 3D plane in the world--but it will do all the stuff--you just gotta have the thumbs to do it.

It lands slow enough--shoot--it's a 15.5 pound aerobat--it ain't gonna land like your sons' LT-40[:-]

It's hard to get it to actually STALL. I fly IMAC and I have a hard time on spin entry. It just keeps dropping altitude--but the nose and wing won't drop. It WILL stall--but you gotta work at it. It flies light.

Snaps--blinding. Slow rolling circles will give ya a big 'ole smile'--or make ya poop--depending on it you've ever seen me do one with this plane. It looks like it's going toooooo slow to fly. Flat spins are slow and cool. Roll rate is as fast or slow as you want to set up the throws on the ailerons. On high rates--you can barely count the revolutions.

Minor--VERY MINOR pitch coupling towards the LG during knife-edge. I don't even use mixing. I just fly it. It's that easy.

I really like it for a 50--60cc aerobat.

Can send pics via email if your interested in my setup.

RCpilet, thank you very much for your reply!

Great info! Just what I wanted to know!

I might just have to get me one of those. I like the PW scheme too!

Did you pitch most of the kit hardware, and get your own?

What do you think of the 90 inch? Too much airplane for the 62?

I had the 62 on an old Ace 96" Extra 230, and it flew very well, but lacked 3d power. The 230 was really heavy.

really appreciate the info!

I usually pitch the hardware in ARFs--so--yes, I did pitch it. But, thats not to say that it wasn't decent enough to use---I'm just in the habit of pitching the hardware in ARFs---and replacing it with standard SAE stuff. I hate metric stuff.

I really DO like the way the ARF manufacturers put all the hardware in little plastic bags and seal it all up. Makes it real easy to get it all in the trashcan on the first pitch.

I think the G62 would be marginal for a 90" plane. Really--for aerobatics--keep your weight under 19 pounds. For 3D keep the weight under 17 pounds.

You SHOULD get a Patty. I'm tempted to buy another. I'll need parts some day or maybe even a whole new plane--and I know they'll discontinue them eventually. It flies so nicely--that I'd like to have one for awhile after they quit making them.

Like I said--it's my favorite plane. And it's got a G62 on it---lots of guys pooh-pooh the Zenoah engines--but IMO--they work just fine.

Awesome. Looks like I might be ordering the patty!

I like Zenoahs too. I have three, the 23 on a H9 PT19, a 38 on a stinger 120, and the 62 that needs a home.

thanks!

Lanier has a new 87' extra and edge worth looking at. I E-mailed Chip Hyde and he said it should work good in his Double Vision bipe.
