with the back plate off and the crank at BDC I just slipped the rod off of the crank with no problems.

Thanks, I ended up taking out the cylinder bore, and it gave me enough room to get it out. Now I can't figure out how to get the crank out...lol.

Default RE: Evolution .46 Question

Until someone jumps in with the exact method, count on removing the thrust washer first. I have a .46NT, but don't have it in front of me right now. You may need a gear puller to get it off. Remove the backplate and get the rear bearings to fall out. Then, you can get to the crank and connecting rod. You will probably have to heat the crankcase in the oven at around 300 degrees to get the front bearings out. Tapping the crankcase on a piece of wood helps.

When you save 'cylinder bore', do you mean the liner? That is what the piston fits against in the cylinder head.
