ST G51 enough for OMP edge?
I'm just about to order my first profile plane, after years of warbirds and racers. So I'm thinking the OMP Edge would be a good start - will it? Also, will a Supertigre 51 be enough power? How about an ultrathrust muffler perhaps, I know the stock ST muffler is somewhat of a tuned muffler.
Any help and info appreciated,
DT

Wow, great news! Now to call OMP and make the deal.
What prop would you folks suggest for my 51? I've been using an 11 x 7 for speed, but I suppose I need one of the goofy numbered ones now...
thanks again!

Yeah, you're going to want to drop the pitch some for 3D. I use a 12.25 3.5 on my 46. I'm not familiar with what the 51 needs to be properly loaded, but I'm thinking it might be something like a 12-4.

Okay, I've placed my order for the Edge, and also got a few 12.25 x 3.75 props coming, should be about right, I'll have to check the rpm when I get it all together, if I'm a bit too fast, I'll try a 12 x 4.
BTW - I've read quite a bit of badmouthing of OMP and it might only be a few people, but I just got off the phone with them, and they were great getting my order switched around (I originally ordered the Kantana, but I think it might be a bit advanced for me right now). Also, there were only 3 Edges left and now there are two. They say they aren't getting anymore anything soon - so if you want one, get on it!

Okay, just got word the Edge shipped just hours after ordering it, can't wait!
The only sad news is that I will probably take the guts out of my Global Freestyle after 4 years of use, but she was looking a bit ragged....

That Tiger should do it!! I got a Supertiger Como ABC .51 and it has plenty of power. I have it on a Extreme 330....and can lawnch it strait up. Pretty cool and easy way to get airborn. LOTS OF fUN!!!! Capt,n
